Pros

-Work from home. -Decent pay for first-time journalists. -Friendly staff. -Good exposure. -Your portfolio will grow quickly. -Looks good on resume.

Cons

-Sometimes the editors don't do a good job at editing. Sometimes I'll read my articles after they're published and see typos or other editorial mistakes that the editor either didn't correct or, in some cases, added themselves. -Ensuring the content is SEO-friendly is often prioritized over good writing. -Remote writers have the option of going into the Bustle offices, but upper management doesn’t go out of its way to invite us to headquarters or to Bustle events.

Pros

Flexible; Easy to talk to editors, lots of opportunities for live event coverage, award shows, tv coverage, etc etc. opportunities for growth are available

Cons

Quantity over quality in terms of articles; sometimes feels like a content mill, though if you like the topics you're writing about, it's not a huge deal.

Pros

Bustle is young and fun, and a lot of cool people work there

Cons

The CFO is really tough to work with. And they made it very clear that I was different because I was part time and not part of the "real" team.
