Pros

There are truly some good people working at CAL Ranch and to them I say thank you and RUN!

Cons

CAL Ranch is a business with so much potential. However it seems like senior management is determined to continue failing to achieve success. They are like children playing games on a super computer and don't understand what the super computer is capable of. Outwardly the senior management try selling a rosy picture but inwardly they are wringing their hands about the unprofitably of CAL Ranch but they continue to follow the direction of the "Retail Ops Team, which is only making things worse. At times it is hard to fault them because they don't know what they don't know. They are truly paralyzed by the fear of change and risk. Guys, WAKE UP. The castle is burning and you all are talking about the color of the drapes. It is incomprehensible that you cannot see what is going on. You take engaged employees and turn them into zombies and promote employees willing to accept low wages to the level of incompetence. Shame on you. The retail stores are a mess. Most of them are in poorly chosen geographical locations. Most are old, with outdated fixtures and the floors are always stained and dirty. The merchandise layouts are horrible, makes the shopping experience feel more like a garage sale than a well thought out retail shopping environment. And to make it worse, each of the 26 retail store layouts are different. The retail employees are unappreciated, underpaid and overworked. The stores never seen to have the correct number of employees to help customers. Try finding someone to help you. Try finding product. It is probably buried in the back room on a pallet. It seems logical that when presented the facts appropriate actions would be taken but senior management can't seem to place accountability where it belongs. Facts don't seem to matter, only the emotions of select individuals. Training? Almost nonexistent. SOP's? Almost nonexistent. Accountability for Senior Management's favored employees? Almost nonexistent. Equality? You guessed it. Almost nonexistent.
