Pros

There have been a number of reviews this year which prompted some discussion among my colleagues and several of us said that we would write some fair reviews to better reflect the company. C1 is not perfect but we are definitely not what some of these bad reviews paint us to be. I felt that there were some unfair reviews that were perhaps written by former colleagues who might have been angry or bitter at the time and were using rather sarcastic language to paint a poor and inaccurate picture of C1. I work with great team members who are always willing to assist each other. C1 also allows for flexibility in terms of work hours; team members ask to work from home when the need arises and I have never seen a manager reject a work from home request. If you can be relied on to get the work done on time and be responsive to emails when working remotely, the flexibility is all yours. Of course this does not mean you can work from home for 2 weeks for no good reason, you are expected to make fair and mature judgments. Fridays are standard work from home days for everyone. Project work is often varied and stimulating and I feel that I am constantly learning and growing.

Cons

Upper management are often very busy and it is hard to reach them at times. This time crunch would lead to emails to be read too quickly and can/have led to misunderstandings but these are often resolved later when the management team has the time to digest the information

Pros

Work from home Fridays Good pay

Cons

Everything besides the pay. Cult of personality surrounding one or two individuals in your office They will work you 50 to 60+ hours per week and will have no respect for your familial life. Emails over Christmas holidays are the norm. You will be castigated if you do not respect the "on call 24/7" rule. Sadly, they don't tell you this going into the job. Expectations and training are non existent. Unless you have A LOT of Consulting experience and fully understand the industry, I would stay away. This is a terrible place to learn and develop your career out of undergrad/grad school, but could be a good option for more experienced workers who know what they are getting into. If you have less than 5 years experience, they pay will seem great, but taking a job here could likely set your career back a few years because you WIll get burnt out and hate yourself within 3 months. Just ask what turnover is at the company and you will understand. Seriously, if you get an interview, ask what turnover is in this company. That will tell the story. Middle management is out for themselves, will take credit for your work and blame you when things go wrong. Prepare to live a miserable existence if you want to succeed.

Pros

Being a former consultant builds credibility and will open up doors for you. Working at C1 will force you to address and mental or emotional weaknesses you have Being constantly berated by management will test your mental and emotional fortitude, and if you're an optimist, like me, you'll come to appreciate your own resilience You'll know exactly how not to behave when you are in a position of authority (whether you go on to be a parent, a manager, at director, etc) Nearly everyone who works at the company is smart and is looking to leave, so you'll find at least one person to bond with Management is blatantly disrespectful to the underlings who work for then, so you know where you stand, (and you won't feel bad when you leave after several months) When discussing salary, know you're worth, they offer that +5k

Cons

Working at C1 could have caused irreparable damage to my self esteem and sense of professional self-worth; luckily, I had career successes prior to joining C1 and have continued to have career successes, so it turned out okay for me I was often made to feel dumb, like my opinions were not valued Management is the biggest bully on the playground The positive reviews on C1 look suspicious...like they may be fake
