Pros

The kids...and your colleagues at other centers. Other than that, the benefits aren't that great and the pressure to sell is constant.

Cons

Pressure to sell, ridiculous amount of things to do, lack of clarity and communication from headquarters. Stupid company calls you have to be on all the time when you should be working.

Poor scheduling, few hours

Pros

Pay is slightly above market rate

Cons

When I was hired I was told I would be working 32-40 hours per week. But even after 2 months of working at a center, my hours would fluctuate between 4-12 hours per week. The center director keeps promising me more hours, but each week I receive barely any. The center director has given me no indication that this is a result of my performance and she seems eager to "keep me on the team." It's absurd that they expect me to set aside 7 days per week and then only call me in for 1 or 2 days. This means I can't, say, make plans for the weekend because they won't let me know more than 2 days in advance if I have that time off or not. If I tell them I can't work on a certain day less than a week in advance, the CD gets irritated. But am I not entitled to the same irritation when they tell me 1 day in advance that I will/won't be needing to work. (This is why I gave work/life balance 1 star; they own all your time, 3pm-10pm, whether you end up working or not.)

It is really important that you feel fairly compensated for the good work you do at C2 - thank you for your contribution to the business. The scheduling process is designed to accomodate the needs of our students and families and should not affect your personal life in such a negative way. We are rolling out a new scheduling system soon, so that should really help. But it also sounds like there is poor communication coming from your Center Director and I encourage you to escalate this issue to your regional leadership team so they can help. Teachers who have more C2 teaching experience, along with those teachers who can cover more subjects, will receive more hours and more consistent schedules because they are able to support more of our students at any given time. Even such, my expectation is that we are building schedules as consistently as possible for all of our teachers since that is to the direct benefit of our students.

Pros

The services we provide are top notch I believe and some of the directors and people in upper management genuinely care for our students.

Cons

There seems to be a lot of miscommunication from the management which can make it hard for a new employee. Additionally there is a lot of micromanaging. Our services our SUPER expensive so the sales aspect is difficult. It would make more sense to have people pay as they went and then centers would have consistent income instead of having to start over each month. Finally, if you're not Korean or Asian maybe, you will probably be very uncomfortable here as almost every action is justified by saying "with Korean parents you have to do ____."
