After the first year of being run by a private equity firm, CDW became an unfriendly and threatening environment for employees. They laid off employees on the December 23rd, 2008, which was certainly a cold and insensitive thing to do. That was followed by removal of our perks, slashing bonuses, freezing salaries, and telling us that we were competing for our jobs against other co-workers. Many co-workers would not cooperate on projects, and went out of their way to make you look bad to your boss, thinking that it would mean that they wouldn't be fired. Instead, the best and the brightest just found another place to work. Now, the talented staff are gone and the department is just a shell of its former self.

Executive Management is literally the worst. Quarter after quarter of failing to meet financial targets and what is my email full of DEI initiatives, how to be a better Ally and how to use my everyday privilege. Listen to our CEO and it is a litany of corporate jargon and buzzwords without any actionable direction. CDW leadership has lost sight of the goals of the business and instead of the change necessary, they double down on the woke agenda that drives zero dollars to the bottom line.
