terrible management, long hours

Pros

people I worked with in the Atlanta office-smart, driven. Interesting industry.

Cons

Arbitrarily short deadlines set then ALWAYS pushed even earlier creating a non-stop stressful environment. No system solution for forecasting and they produce more forecasts than I've seen at other companies = long hours doing manual spreadsheets and tracking multiple versions. Management doesn't push back on last minute (the only kind) from headquarters in Australia making everything worse. The president always talks about how we are "family" but doesn't care if we actually get to see our real family. VERY political environment. Constant reorganizations making it even more unstable. Trouble employees, particularly mangers, aren't dealt with and just drive good people away.

Pros

Growing company, promote innovative thinking

Cons

Too lean of an organization which causes employees to perform multiple jobs for long lengths of time when turnover occurs. Typical work week is 70+ hours per week. Very slow to backfill and prevent employees from promoting into higher positions due to business critical policies.

Pros

CHEP hires smart people and has great fast moving consumer goods customers. It is a great niche business model with scale.

Cons

CHEP can sometimes be internally focused and bureaucratic. The high performance culture can sometimes lead to a focus on short-term gains over long-term performance.
