      No training, no advancement even when promised by c level

      Lax dress code, free soda

      Cons

      Stay away if you want to grow your career. Management stated repeatedly how they want to provide employees with education and training as well as internal advancement. Over 3 years, all my requests for training have been denied and all promotions promised were then rejected. Company has bought more than 10 other companies but still not done integration so there is no overall corporate culture, just a mishmash of ideas and suggestions.

      Pros

      There are many positions here that would be an excellent entry-level or first-time job for people. I applied and accepted my job with the hope that I could make a difference in the world and be a part of a growing company that would provide me with opportunities for upward mobility and a living wage. Sadly, the last part of that statement has yet to become a reality. I do enjoy the satisfaction of being a part of the energy efficiency industry. It's a huge part of what has kept me here. The green office culture is thriving in a way I haven't seen from previous employers. Many of my coworkers are very smart and talented people and there is a lot of teamwork and supporting each other through the heavy workload we all share. I feel like my own talents have recognized and tapped for use, but.....see below.

      Cons

      I have to echo the sentiment of several other reviews on here. While I don't necessarily share the vitriol they've expressed, I have to say that the pay here, and the "increases" are, at best, discouraging. I have been here for two years and have been 'promoted' twice and after my time and job changes I make barely more than $1.50 an hour than I did when I started. Always with the promise that "We'll see what we can do to increase that after some time....blah blah blah"

      Thank you for sharing your concerns. The contributions by you—and all staff—are valued. It's important to us that employee compensation is fair and consistent. I encourage you to speak to your manager and/or an HR representative about when people should expect raises and how people can achieve a bonus by meeting their goals.

      Pros

      The company band is respectable.

      Cons

      Exceptionally poor communications. Spotty systems. Executive leadership that only looks out for themselves. An Austin-centric culture that values time of service over talent. The last cuts represented a significant talent drain. I have been asked by a number potential candidates who wanted a view of the company and I have always told them the same thing: Run, Forrest, Run. Yes, there is a new CEO but the same leadership team is in place so don't expect much in order of changes.
