There are a few good people in marketing who work hard and do a great job, but the department needs to figure out what and who it is trying to be. The culture in the office is really lacking; not a fun or exciting place to be. Does not feel like an agency as they would like it to. In regards to the work, there are way too many politics (egos) within the company overall and too many internal stakeholders who don't understand marketing and challenge creativity constantly, so getting things done efficiently and effectively is almost impossible. The utility companies also don't seem to want to do much cutting edge marketing, or the internal stakeholders are too scared to push for it, so the work is a bit dull. They're trying to improve but there are a lot of roadblocks and not enough support for marketing. Recently hired senior management may change that, though.
