Pros

None! Unless you like long hours, low pay and horrible benefits. Do not believe the posts on here that are giving positive reviews. Though some may be honest at the Sr. Program Manager level, because its good to be the king. Know that there was an internal "push" to post positive reviews because of the horrid ratings the company was getting on Glassdoor. Two things to keep in mind when reading these reviews. First, and one poster mentioned this in his review, the company went from a low 2.5 rating up to almost 4.0 in less than two months. Really?? Second, look at the writing styles, it's obviously the same two people posting the reviews. They use the same broken english to post, and/or say the same things. For example, "Work hours can get extended at times..." Seen that a few times. And please, that's an understatement. If you define "extended" as 55+hr weeks MINIMUM consistently, then yes, they can get "extended". The reason I am putting this in the Pro's section is that I wanted to address how deceitful Clearesult has been in trying to manipulate their reviews. I will post the Con's as I see them below. I hope by the length of this review that you understand the passion in which it is written. Becareful if you choose to try and have a career with this company. You have been warned!!

Cons

* Horrible work environment, employees are treated disrespectfully quite often * Very low salaries, not competitive with industry * Poor managers with little in the way of people skills * Little to no communication * Sub standard benefits (401k 3% match vested in 3 years) * Bonus offered, but NEVER paid out. For example in 2017, company keep bonus in order to make their results look better. * No work life balance, hours are horrible. 55 hrs/week was a good week (there were NO good weeks). Working weekends is expected in many roles * No career path * Cover your butt culture * Buying up companies in order to grow business, very poor integration of new systems such as sales force. Company rolled out to clients when they were clearly not ready too. This caused lots of stress and LONG hours * Layoffs common to help boost bottom line. Usually occur at the end of the year. * Vacation, you get it but good luck trying to take it. Everyone has bill-ability targets they need to hit, and taking vacation hurts bill-ability. Also, if you leave and have vacation days, they do NOT pay them out. Found that out the hard way. * No training, sink or swim baby

Pros

There is free coffee available in the break room; colleagues occasionally bring snacks to share with the entire office. If you are idealistic and want to help the environment, some of the programs seem to make a difference to our world with respect to helping reduce energy usage. I suppose you can think of employment at CLEAResult as a stepping stone to a more fulfilling career at another company in the future if you are really desperate, but I would not recommend working here. I have learned so much about poor management and how NOT to treat subordinates that I feel confident that I would succeed at another organization by avoiding what I experienced here firsthand.

Cons

I've had a different supervisor for every year I have worked here (more than 5... let that sink in for a moment). There is a revolving door of mid-level managers that have to be some of the least qualified individuals I have ever encountered in my professional career. Here's just one example of the prowess of our leadership: hire and promote a person with minimal management experience - with advanced degrees in a completely unrelated field - to run a multi-million dollar government contract and help oversee dozens of employees. Long story short, it didn't work out too well for our company and the client... but at least the employee in question landed in a dream job after resigning... following a demotion at CLEAResult, of course. Any prospective candidates should also be warned that the pay rates are depressingly low at CLEAResult compared to competitors in the immediate area. Making matters more frustrating, there are few opportunities for advancement. Although there are almost always lateral openings available due to turnover and burnouts, advancement is extremely difficult. At least two of my colleagues have taken demotions when their original positions were eliminated; in my experience you seem to have a better chance of moving down the corporate ladder than up it. When my latest supervisor departed the company and I was asked to assume most of the responsibilities for that role, I was offered a minuscule raise... definitely not in line with the amount of work expected of me. When I asked for additional compensation from office managers before accepting the offer, I was told that there are now corporate limits in place and that any further increase was "impossible." Even if this is somehow true, such a policy almost certainly guarantees that you are not going to get the caliber of employee the company unrealistically expects. I was told that my change in title would help open new doors in the future, though. That's right - CLEAResult management's own best advice is to look for growth and opportunity outside of the company! For anyone desperate enough to accept an offer to work here, you should know that there are two types of managers in my office: they could be described as micromanagers and ostriches. I've had the displeasure of reporting to both types during my tenure and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a happy medium. Some of my past supervisors have routinely hovered over my desk to watch me work, stopping by for unannounced visits and beginning to address me before I had a chance to acknowledge their presence. That may not seem significant, but it reinforced the notion that my own bosses often lacked trust, respect, and common courtesy to not interrupt someone while otherwise occupied with work. Still other supervisors have shown no interest in my responsibilities, seemingly avoiding any possible interaction out of sheer laziness or apathy. How upper management decided to promote these people to positions of authority in the first place is beyond me... but it is what I have come to expect from CLEAResult. My experience with CLEAResult could best be described as a never-ending parade of disappointment. Unlike the former manager I referred to earlier, I actually have educational background and experience that would benefit several business functions within the company besides my own. I have regularly asked each of my former supervisors - as well as the regional management throughout my time at CLEAResult - for increased responsibilities and new opportunities based on my performance. Unfortunately, my requests have often been ignored... sometimes I am patronized instead. I've repeatedly been told that I need to stay in my current position since I'm the subject matter expert - but I have not been given the same level of support my predecessors have received. It's a unique combination of pursuing fleeting hope for advancement while being hit with continuous demoralization - a feeling you will become familiar with quickly at CLEAResult. If at all possible, I urge you to avoid wasting your time with a potential employer as mismanaged as CLEAResult.

CLEAResult has let you down, and I'm sorry about that. Critical feedback and negative experiences aside, it's obvious that you're passionate about the work CLEAResult does. Your contributions to the company and our mission is appreciated. I hope you will speak to your immediate supervisor or take advantage of HR's and executives' open door policy to formalize your concerns. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Pros

Growing Energy Efficiency company acquiring strong foothold in the marketplace through continuous acquisition of well-established competitors nationwide.

Cons

Talented and dedicated staff lost in the transition process. Continuous focus on owning the marketplace and not enough on keeping the positive culture of the companies that have been acquired. Too many chiefs...too many broken promises.
