Pros

Small team size, Relatively flat structure, Competitive Salary package. Excellent support from Global team.

Cons

Strictly about the present COMSOL Bangalore Office: Management seems to be eccentric, inconsistent and unpredictable. Following characteristics have been consolidated from direct instances experienced by self and colleagues: 1. Micromanagement: You may often get emails judging your "Seriousness in the workplace", or instructing when or when not to have breakfast, play table tennis, issuing other restrictions and so on. 2. Lack of SOPs: Your yearly appraisal meeting may be conducted over a 15 min phone call, outside office hours. 3. Struggle for basics: You may have to repeatedly followup the management for basic things like Confirmation letter after your probation period. You may have to ask repeatedly for Appraisal letter, and you may be cross-questioned by the management as to why it is needed by you. 4. Unpredictability: You may be fired abruptly, while serving your notice period and be asked to leave within an hour, in case the management perceives you to be a hazard. 5. Vindictiveness: Management may weaponize anything in their authority, such as threatening to withhold your Relieving letter after you have served your notice period, in case they have preconceived notions against you. 6. Misplaced sense of cost-saving: During team activities, due to lack of budget, it may happen that you may have to share refreshments such as 1 sandwich among 2 people. 7. Violation of business logic: Management may refuse to sell a COMSOL license to a customer in case they have a grudge against the customer for some reason - in the worst case, or delay the sale by a few quarters - in the best case scenario.

Cons

The review given below is applicable for COMSOL banaglore office: Many cons can be told about this company, but I will try to list a few: 1. Highest level of Micromanagement by MD as he acts as a dictator. For instance, he will even email everyone to stop having tea or breakfast in the office if he believes employees are happy in office. He can see no one relaxed or happy in office. 2. No formal training for new employees. There is no HR, and no proper management structure, as everything is in the control of one person, MD himself. 3. Last year, there was a mass resignation of the application team in this Bangalore office because of the torture by the MD as he constantly humiliated the technical team almost everywhere. 4. There are many people who have left within one month of joining because of poor management. 5. Will give any amount of work to anyone without knowing their specialization or domain. Ex: An electromagnetics person will be told to give a presentation on nuclear physics. 6. The biggest evidence of poor management is that there is no person in the office who has more than 3 years of experience in the same company. This is because of the high attrition rate. No one can stay there for more than 3 years. A handful of them who have more experience are those who are not able to switch due to personal reasons. 7. Spies are everywhere, and keep spying for the management. And he (MD) will believe everything they say. 8. poor work ethics mis-selling is encouraged to get revenue for the company, which was not there a few years back when the management was different. 9. There is huge trust issue amongst different teams, and also the management doesn't trust the employees. You will find it difficult to work from home as they won't believe that you will work from home.
