Well, any job you have will have some cons. The only one for me has nothing to the with company itself. The people we call can be quite rude when there's nothing we can do about it. And at any rate, that will always be the case in the customer service industry.
Cons that I could see others having a problem with:
-the company is strict on their employees being on time and not missing days. Of course, given what the job entails, that is kind of common sense. The easy fix is don't be late or don't seek out this job. I was a habitually late to a few of my previous jobs but when you actually like the job your at, you'll be on time.
- break time. you get a 30 minute lunch and that's basically it. But again, given what we do at this job, it kind of makes sense.
- getting pointed for being sick. As someone that's been sick while at this job, for the most part you just got to suck it up, like you would (or should) any other job. Some times you may be so sick you simply can't make it in, but that's why you get so many grace points before getting written up.
- Someone said we were being watched all the time. Well, yes, yes we are. If someone had access to my personal information to the point they could get into my house easily, I'd want someone watching them too. And yes, our calls are recorded and critiqued. If you do your job right, I'm not sure why that would matter. That's like saying you don't like that police dispatchers are recorded.
Essentially, I feel this job is for more mature people who want to work in the adult world. If you want lots of freedom and endless sick days, seek a job at McDonalds.
