Cons
Everything I was told about what this job would be was completely untrue. I was hired as a field staff adjuster with the intention of completing 8-10 field claims per week and supplements. The last year I was at the company I was allowed to inspect 12 claims in person. The rest were farmed out to 3rd party inspectors, people who are not licensed adjusters, from which I had to make coverage and damage determination based on poor information or independent adjuster's. The claim volume increased to 4 claims per day being completed and 4 received. This give you about an hour to make decisions, log, create letters, and write estimates from customers which is unmanageable. The work volume became unmanageable. Upper management is completely dishonest. I have worked with a wide array of carriers over my 12+ years in the industry. I would not recommend this company as an employer. Overtime was not allowed unless they told you same day you were going to be working overtime with no choice. There is a pervasive atmosphere of work avoidance at the company. When you go on vacation or are out sick, there is NO support. Everything will be waiting for you when you get back. Worst carrier I have ever worked for. There is no advancement opportunity. Managers are inept and do not support their staff. When I left, the Oklahoma property claims in office team had 1 team manager with current home insurance experience. When I applied to be part of the leadership development program, I was told I was accepted then received a rejection letter from corporate. I reviewed this with 4 different leaders at different levels of the company and no one could explain what happened or followed up.
