Pros

My co-workers were awesome to work with- they never had a problem joining together to help each other. Sadly, I can't say the same for the management team. The supes I had were all very nice and accomodating and often shared in the employee's angst against the management nonsense.

Cons

I don't know where to begin. Firstly, I am happy to hear that management has caught wind of this website and is actively reviewing the statements posted here. Sadly, I don't think it will do much good- they may only try to find out who is posting what rather than dealing with the issues brought up. In any case, I will give my opinion. Although I am no longer an employee, I worked there for almost 2 years and came into the place with almost 4 years of claims specific work experience. That being said, I have seen the way an effective and efficient claims environment can run and I can safely say AAA is not one of those companies. The haphazard CONSTANT changing of processes and protocol did not afford experienced adjusters to handle their workload and (God forbid) complete a full investigation of a claim. The prior post who stated that working there is like being a telemarketer is spot on. Turning the investigative adjusters into in-bound claim takers is madness. How is anyone supposed to be able to accurately and effectively handle customer calls and investigate accident details when after 30 seconds of being in wrap you are sent an instant message about the service level? Quality of work has suffered and the intense resentment of management will continue if this is not rectified. The overall program change DOES look great on paper- but in action it has bred distain for those who implemented it. No one there now will say this, but they all think and feel it. EVERYONE is looking for a way out- unfortunately the economy and job market as it is, most have no choice but to stay for the time being. But rest assured, THEY ARE LOOKING TO LEAVE. I should mention that the nepotism and blatant favoritism is simply unethical and unprofessional- and EVERYONE knows it is going on. I hate to mention the hand picked employees who are recommended for promotions without the position being posted for others in the company to see or have an opportunity to apply. Maybe the best part of this is the "open door" policy wherein the manager seeks to know about the employee concerns. Until you get into his office where you are told, "if you need help finding another job, I will personally help you do so". This is how I feel after several months out of the company. I hear about how horrible things have gotten from former co-workers and I thank my lucky stars I was given an opportunity to advance somewhere else and to even be RESPECTED by my superiors. Heck, my managers now work longer and harder than I do to get the job done. This would NEVER happen at AAA. The front line employees are expected to complete their work without any over time. If an hour or two of overtime is allowed here or there, they are expected to continue to take incoming calls, thus adding to their workload. Except for a select few supervisors, you will NEVER see a supe working past their 8:30-5:30 shift. Even if their team is drowning in overdue diaries. It is up to the team to get the work done- supes don't have to facilitate a team environment- I suspect that has to do with their own resentment for the situation. After all, they DID have to re-interview to keep their jobs. It just gets better and better with that company. As far as the benefits are concerned, many on this board stated that the benefits are great. I will disagree. There are health, dental and vision benefits offered to each employee, but the cost is ASTRONOMICAL in comparison with other companies locally who offer the same plans at a third of the cost. Step up AAA, don't spout how great the benefit plan is when every 2 weeks an employee is charged upwards of $300.00 for family coverage. That's simply asinine. No amount of Target gift cards is going to change this resentment- ever.

Pros

Most fellow coworkers make the job worth coming to. Everyone is thinking the same problems are there. We understand each other.

Cons

They do not understand that their employees are 2 seconds from walking. All they have to do is listen. That seems to be the hardest thing for them to do. Wake up. People are not just stumbling across new employment. They sought it out.
