Pros

Overall frontline staff are caring and support doing the right thing. Some supervision is knowledgable and balance production, quality, and motivation.

Cons

Computers systems that adjusters use - particularly utilized in growing expansion states are sub-par and obsolete. To manage growth and service - employees need streamlined tools capable of supporting quantity of work that consistently grows. Quantitative data regarding qualitative and quantitative performance is not readily available to front line staff; only nominal data is provided keeping staff in the dark and is handled such that staff somehow are unable to comprehend what is available. Numbers game being played – frequently work load numbers are obscured into different sections – showing only one section as an employees work product to make it appear that they are handling less volume then actually are receiving (on several occasions have requested work distribution and recently received a break down for one month – that showed half of the materials actually worked). Appearances are that either service centers are obscuring information to top management – or top management is not proactive in making sure data they receive is accurate and available to front line staff. Qualitative measurements need taken from an objective third party source - this is open to and frequently manipulated by supervisors to support personal favorites. Growing disharmony and morale in front line staff trying to provide quality service while handling multiple job functions that are not related or cohesive. Finally – adjusters are expected to handle difficult situations and resolve them to satisfaction (which is normal)– however frequently supervision is unavailable or unwilling to support staff on necessary escalations.

Pros

AAA as an organization promotes personal and professional development at all levels of employment. There is ample opportunity for continued learning and personal growth if one so desires. The local leadership teams make every effort in order to ensure there is a balance between the business need and the needs of the employees. While decisions don't always seem "fair" on the surface, the reality is that there are some individuals who simply will never be satisfied and who take no accountability for their own actions. If an indiviudal wants to grow and wants to be succesful in this organization the opportunities and support are there. This is one of few companies who truly care about their employees (at least at the local level) and tries to make decision in their best interest. PTO guidelines are fair and the benefits are good. The ogranization keeps employees informed about changes in process and procedures and encourages open and honest feedback from the employees.

Cons

As with any company there are people in this organization who are cancerous. They take no accountability for their own actions, fail to see the big picture, and put little to no effort into their own development or success. Rather than be productive and look for ways to improve these individuals spread negativity like wild fire which resutls in a significant amount of babysitting and "micro-management" on the part of the leadership team which results in more negative feedback from the staff. There are also entirely too many changes within the organazation. These changes happen too frequently and witihout significant forethought into logistics surrounds the impact. If senior management would simply allow enough time for changes to take effect and work we might find a more productive work environment and greater employee engagement. We have a tendency to speak before we think and make hasty decisions with quick implementation only to turn around and have to change again.

Pros

The co-workers are very nice, pay is decent for now and benefits are great for now, and the schedule is great for now. I do say 'for now' because changes come by the minute.

Cons

For anybody reading this-this is to help you if you're offered a career doing what we do now-caveat! You cannot get paid time off now without it possibly leading to a write-up, so if you have to go to the doctor it counts against you. The supervisors come and go whenever they want, yet micro-manage your breaks and lunches to the second. The management prefers to 'spring' changes on the staff at the last minute, and if you have anything to say about it their ready response is "If you don't like it-leave". You are forced to take in-bound calls (and be 'in available' to take them at all times or a supervisor will tell you to 'get into available') to file new claims, yet you have all of this detailed work to do on each claim that is counted against you if you don't do it correctly-keep in mind it is impossible to do this 'in available', because as you get into doing one thing you have to drop it to take a new claim. The supervisors run around screaming about 'service levels' (how quickly the calls are taken) yet there is not one supervisor who even knows how to file a claim. Also since 'service levels' are low none of them are capable of getting on the phone to take some of these calls, so you can see them all standing around chatting with each other. Since there is so much importance placed on taking new claims you cannot return voice mails to the customers who have already filed a claim, and then you're saturated with calls for other adjusters' customers as well as for new claims. The computer systems are not up to date, nor will they be able to be because the claims cannot be converted and you have to use a few software programs (one of them was updated in the early 90's) to get one thing done. If you can find something else-it is recommended you keep looking, unless you want to spend 10 to 15 years doing this.
