Pros

Good pay and benefits. Annual bonus is better than most companies in the valley. Small perks provide additional incentive for employees to stay.

Cons

Managers can eliminate positions and terminate employment at any time. This “ISP” process is often used to get rid of performance problems without going through the formal performance improvement process or to terminate employees they don’t like or don’t see eye to eye with. This creates a culture of people trying to show their worth at the cost of teamwork and getting work done. No one feels secure leading to bad behavior.

Pros

For most part the company employs nice people. Excellent wellness program led by a great team of HR employees. Great place to cruise your way to retirement if that is your goal.

Cons

The nice people mentioned above are not necessarily talented and professional. Not a great place for career advancement and building new skills and your resume - more like a government job if you will. Weak management, without interest in fostering and retaining talent. Often consultants are treated and paid better than full time employees who are denied access to advanced training and career advancement. While it is refreshing to see the notes from our media consultants answering to postings, I have to question if the interest and effort is sincere and if there is any follow up with our leadership - lately I lost my hope since I have not seen any positive change.

Thank you for the feedback. We are sorry your experience at CSAA Insurance Group hasn't been as positive as expected. Our recent engagement survey indicates that three-quarters of our employees are satisfied with career opportunities and their career development discussions with their manager, but we’re always looking for ways to improve. Professional development remains an area of focus for our leaders, and we’re confident that we can continue making progress in this area.

Pros

I tried really hard to think of some and all I can say is some of the employees are nice.

Cons

CSAA INSURANCE has no Moral Compass. racism and misogyny are rampant. They will hire minorities for jobs in servicing which is called Area 51 but when those people try to apply for the more coveted positions in claims, they are looked down upon and laughed at. They hire people in claims with little experience and don't properly train them and then load them up with claims. If they don't work excessive amounts of overtime to stay on top of the workload, they will make the supervisors document their failures then fire them. They contest EVERY SINGLE unemployment claim by saying the person was fired for misconduct even though the reason is they just couldn't handle all the overwork. they even hire an outside firm to fight the claim with the state and use all that documentation against you. They have the same state representative on all of their unemployment claims who is probably paid under the table because they win nearly every case even when it's clear there was no misconduct. Most people there are in constant fear of losing their job and this company abuses their employees by fostering an unspoken expectation of working off the clock in order to get free work out of exempt employees. This place and the environment can only be described as toxic. If you are smart and value your reputation you will stay far away.
