Pros

Great tools and resources for you to use to help your clients. Some coworkers will be your lifelong friends. Good place if you are just starting out or just need a job. Use that to gain experience and move on. Don't stay too long! It's not worth it in the long run!

Cons

High maintenance clients. Annoying clients. Clueless clients. These clients work for law firms but don't know anything. Some get condescending and mean. They really do not make you want to help them. This job is not rewarding. There's not much you can do that will give you a sense of fullfillment. It's a job. Use the experience and move on. This company will make you WORK and overwork you and then tell you to do more! They are a slave driver! You will not be compensated fairly for the amount of work you do and the BS that clients put you through. Clients are always right EVEN WHEN THEY ARE WRONG! This company doesn't care about their employees. They care about the revenue that an employee can make them and they don't care at what cost. Clients will use you and then refuse to pay invoices. Some coworkers will talk about you behind your back and then smile at your face. However, if that employee is a high revenue employee, management won't do anything at all to discipline them! This company creates a cult of angry and hateful people and the nice people feel lost and stuck. Don't let this company drag you down or turn you into a bitter and resentful person. Get out as soon as possible! It'll disappoint you! There are people who work really hard then there are the ones who don't do as much and management doesn't do anything about it. They say open, direct, and honest but nothing gets done even if you say something.

Stay Away from IT at All Costs

Pros

If you are willing to sell your soul for a salary, this is a great place to work. There are a few select employees who have been at Corptax for quite some time who are willing to train and educate others. Compensation is competitive with the market, which is what initially draws employees in.

Cons

There are not enough words to truly express the cons of working at Corptax, at least within the IT department. The issues begin from the top and work their way down. Management are not managers, and even with repeated "leadership training" there is no positive effect. The development methodology is inconsistent, even with external consultants brought in to realign on a regular basis. There is no logical career path for employees, and once you get brought in, you are essentially paid to stay. The amount of times employees are berated publicly is unheard of, and there is no coaching or incentive to change that behavior. Work/life balance is typically non-existent within the IT department, and you are expected to respond to emails almost instantly, all the time. It is not out of the norm to receive an email at 10:00pm on a Saturday and be expected to respond that night-- not during a release cycle.
