Pros

Profitable company with intelligent workers that will most likely be here long into the future. Good Health Benefits.

Cons

No way to advance in the company without switching locations. We were instructed raises would be negotiable each year but it was just a set minimal amount determined by computer software with you performance and workload having a minimal output on the raise. The company seems to cut corners to achieve it's growth.

Thank you for your balanced feedback. Your observations are appreciated. Your perception of our pay model is not accurate. We follow a pay for performance model and we do differentiate between performance levels. What you put in is what you get out. Although I cannot speak directly to your situation, if it had been brought to our attention, we could have dug into it more while you were here. You are correct on internal movement for some of our smaller offices. There are only so many positions in certain locations. Through our internal posting process, we share all openings in all locations and as we continue to make technology enhancements around remote work options, we hope to expand opportunities in smaller offices.

Pros

-CSC is very stable, family-friendly, and it is not at all like some IT jobs I have had at startups/schools. They respect your time and your family. Things aren't always on fire and there aren't never-ending projects. -At least in salaried roles, they treat you like an adult. There isn't anyone marking down the time you leave, or locking down everything on the internet. -The upper leadership teams do care about their employees. I have seen them go out of their way to help employees at home and work around any issue. Mark Rosser, the VP in Tallahassee, FL is an amazing leader. He has fought for people he didn't have to, in meetings we would never have representation many times. -They try to invest in the best technology for the task. They don't always get it right (Look at how many HR systems we have gone through), but they do listen to employee feedback. -I can't speak for other offices, but the Tallahassee office at least is a very close group. I once left my truck lights on and I had at least 10 people come and tell me before I could go turn them off. A lot of the employees are friends outside of work and everyone generally gets along. People who are abrasive don't tend to stay too long. -They listen to people. We have workplace surveys and exit interviews that leaders place a lot of weight in. Our CEO says he reads every comment, which I believe. -They love to promote within. Look at Shawn Dutton, who is in the role one step below Director. He started at Help Desk and moved his way up in CSC over 13 years. -The 401k plans are stellar. Managed by Vanguard with a lot of options and good matching (6%).

Cons

-There are a few lower-level managers that people have issues with. They get complaints a fair bit but don't seem to improve any. This may be because of CSC's extreme aversion to firing anyone, which is both a blessing and a curse. There aren't too many of these, though. So make sure to get a good feel for your manager's personality in the interview. -The technical interviews aren't tough enough for some roles. A fair amount of interviews don't ask any technical questions, which worries me. -It doesn't happen often, but they have brought in external managers who are far too metric focused. Of the ones I have seen, most have already left. But this still leads to a nonproductive environment for a little bit.

Thank you for this well-thought out and balanced review. You call out some things that we are very proud of (internal movement, we genuinely care for our each other and listen to feedback) and some things that we are actively working on - training and interviewing.

Pros

Global company where you get a chance to interact with people from all over. Has a good core set of values that shows in day to day work. Company is growing but each business unit has a certain degree of autonomy which provides a mid-size business feel with all the benefits of a larger organization. Employees are empowered to make decisions. Growth has created opportunities for advancement for employees.

Cons

DBS is very fast paced and with the rapid global growth we've experienced, sometimes strain is placed on more experienced team members to manage change while keeping business running.
