Pros

Since there is a lot of career churning going on a lot of opportunities for advancement turn up. If your job doesn't require you to be on site all of the time, CSC has no problem with you working from home.

Cons

Lots of job cuts in higher paying countries and offshoring to India and Malaysia. CSC has a tendency to let employee equipment get a little long in the tooth, so if you are looking for cutting edge equipment this is not the place.

Pros

Opportunities to learn and gain experience

Cons

Poorly managed. Required to prepare and complete Development Plan targeted at soft skills outside normal business and travel time. Most people just go through the motions to satisfy the minimum requirements but it's annoying.

Pros

Stepping stone to something WAY better. Salaries are really poor, if you transfer from group to group within the company, the move is almost always "lateral" -- which means you don't get a pay increase, but they promise you a good pay increase after 6 months, which is then later pushed back to the annual appraisal period, and when the appraisal period arrives, management tells you that CSC is not doing so well and they won't be able to give you anything better then 1.5 to 2.5% increase. In my 20 years with CSC I've seen a lot of people leave the company to get a better work environment and better paychecks.

Cons

Management for the most part is terrible, most lower tier management have no experience and treat you like kids. They will offer you training, but at the last minute there's a freeze on the training budget and there's no training. It's very rare that you will get training working for CSC other than internet based training or CBT's. They consider their account with "Books 24x7" to be training. CSC does not pay over time.
