Pros

It is a job ... for now

Cons

Company has gone down the toilet in last 10-15 years. Current CEO is bent on turning the commercial business into offshore operation. No jobs in US.

Pros

Allowed to work remote from home

Cons

Very poorly organized internally; reorg all the time; product offerings are poorly managed; senior managers treat employees like numbers, not skilled technical talent. Good people let go while political animals stay and keep things awful. Technical talent has been drained. Salary and benefits under market.

CSC Mass Layoffs Effective June 1, 2016 - 65,000

Pros

They gave me a two weeks notice; paid me for a few days of vacation, and had me escorted to the door.

Cons

Slice and dice company lays off up to 65,000 workers after mergers with an HP technical company spin off and XCHANGING; a technology-enabled business solutions provider to the global commercial insurance industry. Many were given 1 day notice; two week notice; some more according to length of employment. According to web research CSC, a federal contractor, has conducted mass layoffs outside of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act. Who wants to work for a company who has contracts with the federal government and violates the law? Those permanent employees who were not given the proper consideration required by federal law should file complaints with the United States Department of Labor. Those who were adversely affected by WARN violations should rally and file a class action lawsuit if the Department of Labor isn't already putting an action together.
