Pros

- Getting to work with several different enterprise applications and equipment. - In-office gym if that's your thing.

Cons

- Nepotism is rampant! - No review of the work that you are doing or ways to improve yourself. - Pay is not tied to job performance but to who you know, how long you have known them, and if they like you. - You will be expected to take on responsibilities outside of the job scope you have been hired to fill. You will not be compensated for it. If you question, you will be fired or harassed. - You will be expected to be available by text message from the CIO and management 24/7/365. They won't tell you that in the interview or onboarding. - There is no official training in IT despite there being a corporate trainer. - The work environment is toxic at best. - No incentive to further your knowledge about your position. - IT management with no technical experience brags about how little technical knowledge they have and is not working to understand IT or better their knowledge. This includes the CIO down. Lack of IT knowledge is worn as a weird badge of honor. - An "intern" program that "teaches" corporate skills is code for a program run by incompetent people looking for technical labor at an intern price. Maybe this is a pro, but they let interns loose into a production environment after around 2 weeks of working. - No room to disagree or you will find yourself without a job at CSI. - No clear job descriptions or titles in IT. Job titles are made up on the spot and most if not, all do not relate to the actual job being performed because the CIO does not like "standard" titles. - There are serious data compliance and security issues. Management has no real interest in fixing these issues as long as they are making money. This is very scary considering the staffing taking place in healthcare. - Good luck getting a job outside of management if you are older than thirty. Being older than thirty is looked down upon. - CIO micromanages and acts like another manager. - There are more managers and "leaders" in IT than there are actual workers. Excluding Interns who turn over every 3 - 6 months.

Pros

The company provides you with an onsite gym you can use during working hours. They also host several fun events throughout the year like Family Day and a Halloween Costume Contest.

Cons

Human Resources Management is toxic. There were several instances where I felt bullied, belittled, and humiliated. I witnessed several meetings where Human Resources management appeared to put down employees and other managers in meetings and then would ask to have a follow-up meeting with the close team after to laugh at the expense of others who were bullied during the previous meeting. It was very hard to witness as a professional. Seeing a Manager use their power as a tool to treat others as a high school mean girl scenario was disheartening. Human Resources Professionals are supposed to be born leaders, not angry dictators who get off on firing and scolding other employees and their own team.
