Pros

lots of pros to list. My top 3: Bridge program, fitness bucks, and closed Sundays (90% of the time)

Cons

Very high expectations to meet for very minimal pay. Core company values such as respect for people and ethical dealings are paramount have been sacrificed since a new regional was hired in the Houston region.

We would like to thank you first for your 8 years of services, we sincerely appreciate your tenure while you were a team member. We are pleased to see that many aspects of our culture such as the B.R.I.D.G.E. program were activities you enjoyed and valued. We would like to convey that we have taken feedback like yours regarding the compensation package and thoroughly evaluated where we rank within the multifamily industry and have made adjustments accordingly. Additionally, leadership changes have been made in the Houston Region. At CWS Apartment Homes we adhere to our core values and believe all people are accountable to conduct themselves in a manner that compliments these values. We sincerely appreciate your review and wish you the best in your future endeavors. Thank you, CWS Apartment Homes

Pros

Diversity within the community residents and direct deposit are the only pros and that's being nice

Cons

Training is a joke. They send you to Austin for a week and you learn basic bland generic common sense information which helps you for about 20% of the actual job. The management team cares about numbers but the actual leading team who work daily for those numbers. There is never a "job well done" but a you're doing this wrong fix it ! Very unethical in the way some employees, residents, and prospects are treated. Management prequalifies people before they even sit down to ask for leasing information. HR is a joke and never gets back with you. Upper management will never return calls until it's too late. You are forced to attend all resident events even when management decides to leave early. I'm glad I left it was a horrible experience.

We wanted to take a moment to thank you for your candid feedback. We are saddened that your experience while a team member was a negative one. We are glad to see that you did appreciate some of our technologies such as direct deposit. One of our core values is a “Respect for People”, what that means to us is simple; we treat all people that we interact with in any capacity fairly and with respect. You mention under the “Pros” that our communities reflect diversity. This is only possible by treating each person fairly and without prequalifying. The Training Department and Human Resources are a great support to the onsite team, we invest time and dollars to train associates for a week as well as on going courses being offered weekly. Our Human Resource Department continuously monitors turnover rates and conducts exit interviews to make us better at being a great management company. We sincerely appreciate your input and will strive to make each associate’s experience a positive one

Pros

When I first started I loved working for CWS and loved their values. They have great insurance and benefits. I loved that they encourage volunteering in the community. Made a lot of great friends I still have even after leaving.

Cons

Their values changed and employees who have been there forever were either fired or left the company. When Covid hit they didn't do much for the employees onsite at the properties, they went over how much the company made but said they weren't giving raises because everyone be thankful they have a job. They only do mandatory trainings during busy business hours and most of the trainings could have been an email. Be prepared to come in even if there is icy roads, working weekends, holidays, and being reached out to on your day off. Most CD's are only there maybe half of the time.
