Pros

The company is branded well by their corporate office.

Cons

They do not tell you all the conditions up front. After you are hired and in training they charge you a monthly rental fee to use their cad software. You are not reimbursed 100% for travel. Their is no work life balance. Expect to be on call 24/7.

Lots of Work for Little Pay

Pros

-Work from home -Flexible schedule - Work life balance is on you - Lot's of training

Cons

- Designers pay is withheld until the job is installed complete, even when the company collects 75% of payment from the client. - Base pay is minimum wage with a bonus. There is no commission paid in this position even though it is advertised as a commission based payment plan. - Installers are not held accountable if they have poor communication or if they do not finish a job. - Installation issues are not documented correctly. The only way to get correct documentation is to site on the job site and review the scope with the installer. If that was done for every job it would be impossible to actually sell anything. - Manufacturing is not held accountable for mistakes. As a designer you are not paid on a job that has a manufacturing error until the install is fixed/ complete which often takes two or more trips to fix. - Departments are siloed and there is an us vs them mentality when it comes to warehouse/ install/ design. There has been no effort to create a united front to make sure the projects are successful for the clients. - Lots of talking bad about fellow employees and pushing accountability to the next person. - When the above issues are brought up corporate representatives tell employees now is not the time to discuss the issues and have stated minimum wage is a livable wage. Yes you read that right - that minimum wage base pay is enough to support yourself/ family.
