Pros

The insurance is ok. PTO is nice. I was there for 4 years. It is hard to make the 20 word minimum in this section

Cons

You will be just a number. You will never move up unless you have an in with someone. Management uses fear vs. praise. Average yearly raise .40 In most cases you will do way more then the title you are given. HR is a joke, if you go to them with an issue be ready to deal with the blow back. Unsafe working conditions. If you have a desk it is not ergonomically correct and will cause you pain overtime. There are to many "supervisors" with nothing more to do then harass the people under them. They use "right ups" as a learning tool but will use them when explaining why you did not get a raise. When raise time comes around do not be surprised when you get graded on an A-F scale and you get all Cs because if they give you to many high grades you will get a higher pay raise. My first year I was never late never called out and never took time off and got a C for attendance (explain that). They like to used the tact "something good is just around the corner just keep working extra hard and you will be rewarded" DON'T hand any faith in that!

Pros

Flexibility, work from home (if you demand it) Holiday Parties Fall Family days

Cons

Japanese Culture and Hirachy NON AMERICAN Engineers are fleeing in droves No Real Engineering Lack Solid Engineering Talent, Hiring Freeze Since 2020 Countless Failed Business Ventures No Real Business Position (Cameras and Printers died many years ago) They love Interns that they can turn into Engineer I but they dont last past 2/3 years because of pay and the obvious. Smart engineers are running away like track stars, no new hires. Business professionals are ruining the Canon brand into the ground with failed and desperate partnerships. CVI always get the short end of the stick in business relations, Businesses always cut ties and projects end unexpectedly. My bet is the doors will close, massive layoff AGAIN, and or closure/shutdown of some or all facilities by "MID to late 2026" (This business model isnt sustainable from a profitablitiy perspective)

Good people, poor vacation policies

Pros

People are easy to work with/for. Great support staff. One paid week off each in August and December for shutdown. Flexible business hours if manager approves beforehand.

Cons

Only get 10 days PTO per year. Have to use it for when you or kids are sick, going to doc, etc. This means any vacation will be unpaid and/or sick people come to work and infect others. No compensation for working overtime. Company does not value the contributions of your time but expects every minute you are away during business hours to be claimed as PTO or unpaid leave.
