Pros

-I have met and worked with some of the smartest and loveliest people I have ever known. -Pre-covid, the pantry was stocked with lots of yummy treats. -They have a ping pong table.

Cons

I will always appreciate CapTech for the growth opportunities I was afforded and the deep friendships I made. The culture here has sharply declined in the past few years. Originally, their passion for their clients and employees was evident. Now, it is only about increasing profit immediately and ignoring future implications. - You aren’t allowed to use the ping-pong table. :-) - You will be rewarded for who you know, what you drink, and how well you practice sycophancy. Skill, servant leadership, client delivery and teamwork do not matter. Those that contribute the most are looked over. This is NOT the place to go if you are a developer, engineer, architect, technical analyst. - The project you are placed on has nothing to do with your skillset, and it is almost impossible to move. - The Tyson’s office setup: It is cute at first glance, or if you are stopping by. But it is impossible to take business calls or think over the cacophony amplified by an open floor space with no sound dampening. There are not enough offices to take calls. I’ve had to take calls in the junk closet. - Executives are very gossipy, including HR. - The promotion process refresh has been “in progress” for a few years. But let’s be honest, there isn’t an actual process and there wont ever be because they would have to be held accountable to it.

Thank you for your review and your contributions to CapTech. Our people represent our core values, and we are glad to hear that the individuals you worked with stand out as some of the most talented and enjoyable people you have had the opportunity to work with. We are sorry to hear the frustrations you experienced and the shift in culture you felt during your time with CapTech. Our culture is the foundation for which CapTech was built on, therefore we regularly seek feedback from our consultants on areas where we can improve. While your feedback is shared as an earlier consultant with CapTech, please know that the concerns you address around office accommodations, leadership and the promotion process are areas of which we are actively working to improve. We are listening to our consultants and incorporating their feedback and suggestions as we plan for 2021. Additionally, if there is anything further you would like to discuss or address from your time at CapTech, I am here to listen. Please feel free to contact me directly at kapostolides@captechconsulting.com. - Katy Apostolides, HR Director

Pros

I think we have really humble leaders who, behind closed doors, talk about how we can best help our clients be successful. Ultimately, the method is: do great work for your clients, be intellectually curious, and be a servant leader. Everything else takes care of itself. I'm very attracted to that combination and thankful to be part of a company that does it's best (certainly not perfect) to champion those values, especially across an aggressively expanding national presence. We have more work demand than we have consultant supply because of this.

Cons

National expansion is hard - translating the culture to places where CapTech has not previously existed is tough. We hire awesome people nationally it's just hard to replicate an organic culture in every office.

Pros

Coworkers that are knowledgeable and want you to succeed

Cons

Seems like there is 0 business plan here. Jobs are always being posted on linkedin for available positions when there is a bunch full of capable consultants eager to roll their sleeves up and work. The promotion process is not clear. At first they want us to prioritize client work and not internal work, but internal work is the only way you can be recognized by those responsible for promotions. If you have offers at other firms, take those since you will likely be laid off if you aren't billable here. CapTech preaches about their intern program and constantly brings in 20+ new hires multiple times a year STILL with the lack of work in the pipeline. This creates a negative work environment for everyone with there being no work and more cooks in the kitchen.

I'm sorry to see your review and your strong opinions. CapTech strives to create a supportive work environment for all employees. Client work is definitely a priority, although CapTechers are encouraged to lean in internally where they can best use or grow their skills. If you have any questions around the promotion process, I'd encourage you to reach out to your HR Business Partner, or I'd be happy to talk. -Katy Apostolides, Managing Director - HR
