Pros

-Leadership in specific offices -Great work/life balance -Many opportunities to get involved internally

Cons

-PTO policy is not very transparent (Holidays are included in overall PTO total) -A lot of lip service given to Diversity initiatives, but censorship and trepidation prevail when it comes to action -What office you're in dictates the culture - I've find my home office to be more inclusive, less chauvinistic, with leaders that are willing to go to bat for their people (especially with DIB and equity initiatives). This is not the case for all offices. -Promotions are based heavily on visibility instead of good work.

Thank you for your review and your contributions to CapTech. We agree and believe that a strong culture is rooted in the practice of balancing work life and home life and we appreciate knowing that this has positively impacted your experience as a CapTecher. Every piece of feedback we receive is important and the concerns you raise around PTO clarification, office culture, the promotion process, and DIB initiatives helps us to improve the experience for all CapTechers. Thank you! If there is anything you would like to discuss in more detail, I am here to listen. Pros

The staff are great and always make time to support growth and development. You had the opportunity to not travel for projects, this helped me a great deal.

Cons

Everyone is really just trying to hold things together. After Sr. Consultant, if you ever want to be promoted you have work on internal initiatives, network at events and excel on the client billable work. Sounds simple enough, but what ends up happening is things get pushed off to someone lower level, you cut corners with the client to complete proposals or you burn out. Networking events that involve alcohol sounds great, but anyone with kids or other obligations feel left out of the "in crowd". Killing it on projects is simply not enough. Two CEOs is redundant... especially when you layoff staff and are closing offices. Not sure what the executive leadership do once they are promoted to that level other than speak at events/ internal meetings and keep staff motivated. Very little diversity, especially the higher up the chain. There have been efforts, but more lip service and awareness than any actual change. A lot of my peers and colleagues in my service offering have left for other opportunities because of better salary, these secret layoffs or burn out . Right now it seems like everybody for themselves environment.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Our CapTechers are our priority, and it is unfortunate that your time with us was not the CapTech experience we strive for. To be clear, there have not been any layoffs. We acknowledge that the global health crisis created an unavoidable slowdown for CapTech in the early months of 2020 and our response included a temporary furlough program. Fast forward to today, we are thrilled to see continued, steady growth and client demand across all Practice Areas for both new and existing clients. This growth momentum has allowed us to re-open all offices on a voluntary basis to increase CapTecher flexibility and offer additional workspace options for those who need it. Thank you, again, for the feedback. –Katy Apostolides, HR Director

Staff Augmentation With Extra Steps

Pros

-Coworkers were friendly and smart -Lots of good food and alcohol at corporate events -Good place if you are fresh out of college. -Depending on the contract, no long working hours

Cons

-Most of the Account Managers I worked with across many clients had horrible communication/time management skills. I was literally forgotten and ignored on a few projects. -You needed to network at corporate events and happy hours in order to get on better contracts and work on interesting projects. I was told this by my coach the first month I started at CapTech. -The staff that handles the Bench gate keeps all the opportunities. From junior consultants to upper management, you don't get a say in where and what you do. You might be the best .NET programmer who is Azure Certified, but if they determine you need to work on a on-prem wordpress site, that's what you are doing. If you are lucky (see comment above) you might have made an impression on a director at happy hour and they will snatch you up on their team before the bench team gets a hold of you. -This was hands down the most Caucasian company I've ever worked at. I know they are trying to fix this but why has this still a problem in 2021? -Promotions involve being on an internal project with high visibility. They have zero to do with how well you produce for your client. -The staff augmentation work is ridiculously high. If you are a seasoned I.T. professional looking for that next opportunity with interesting projects, CapTech is not for you. The business model works well for new college hires who are looking for experience.
