      Avoid Marketing!

      Pros

      Some people are actually nice, but for the most part it's unorganized and stressful.

      Cons

      I worked in marketing for about 4 years, and it was a bad experiece. If you're not a fan of contant restructuring, frequent offive moves, daily stand ups, unnecessary meetings, and mircromangement, then marketing at Capital Group may not be for you. Most people complain about the unnecessary meetings, especially the daily stand-ups, which is mentally draining. People only stay because they either can't find another job or feel stuck!

      Pros

      People are nice, hours aren’t bad. If you have low standards for fulfillment CG won’t challenge you so it’s easy to meet.

      Cons

      You have to drink the kool-aid. There is no other path for advancement. Call CG a unicorn in the world of finance, and manage up. People preach the “core values” in meetings, but none are exhibited in the day to day work.

      Compensation and benefits are above average.

      Cons

      Senior Management’s actions rarely match their words. Staffing and overtime continue to be issues senior management can’t seem to solve. Environment heavy on management and lacking true leadership. Leadership is defined by title rather than ability.
