Pros

The people were great and the company hosted lots of perks and discounts. I learned a lot about the mutual fund industry due to ongoing training and development. If you had a great team manager, then life was good and you didnt feel like you were being micro managed. But get the wrong one and it made your job miserable. The bonuses that were given were awesome. The one i got this past June was 12% of my yearly salary and the one at christmas was 8%. Of couse those are based on me being there for 6 yrs. Constant development as well.

Cons

Lots of favoritism. If you didnt seem to mix well with your team manager or sr manager, then you would tend to be picked on.

Pros

Benefits are pretty outstanding (one of the best I've seen) and they advertise their "total" compensation package as being very generous. This is true when you consider that they multiply your salary by 15% and drop that into a pension account for you and let it grow in their mutual funds. People are pretty nice for the most part and offices are updated. Upper management is easy to talk to and usually willing to listen. Opportunity for advancement is there and definitely supported by upper management.

Cons

Things take very long to take place. Since it's a financial institution, projects and such move at a slower pace... to ensure that security is not breached and that no application breaks. Don't expect things to happen overnight. And don't expect to advance as quickly as you'd like although the opportunities are there.

Terrific facilities and benefits! Used to have, but no longer: great environment, people who cared and were collaborative, future focused, respect for employees

Cons

There has been a gross destruction of what made CG great. CG has lost the environment and core values that made it special. People suffer due to a state of senior management confusion and lack of clear direction. Little clarity from senior management - most of the GMs coasted to these positions through seniority and never experienced rough times and thus have handled this crisis deplorably. Great people were let go at the Director, Senior Manager, Team Manager and associate levels. Even worse were the demotions - talk about respect issues. Unacceptable. Not sure if the current bunch of GMs has the capability or desire to right the ship. I'm sure this company will recover and be great, but not soon and not with the management in place within AFS and AFD. Grade: F.
