Pros

Good pay and benefits Nice people Flexible hours and telecommuting Well-respected company Ability to purchase funds without load Opportunity to receive appropriate training

Cons

After lay-offs in 2009, people with great experience are no longer at the company Lengthy decision-making processes Current management displays little regard for associates - no transparency Management all has "drunk the Kool-aid" While Capital says it is "flexible", it is really more "arbitrary" Promotions are not awarded to those most deserving

Pros

The company offers a great benefit package and a fairly easy-going work environment. Management is extremely receptive to the needs of the individual.

Cons

The pay, well...is not good. The company wants you to look at "total compensation", but the base salary is low.

Pros

Good compensation, periodic salary reviews to make sure our salaries were competitive, great benefits, intelligent co-workers, good reputation in the industry, nice offices.

Cons

Some of the managers and senior managers are not effective or skilled at their jobs. Promotions are generally justified, but occasionally leave you wondering how the decision was made. There is a lack of transparency when key decisions are made about how some key staffing changes are made. The investment group (portfolio counselors and analysts) are treated like royalty and they sometimes display arrogance and a sense of entitlement. The company laid off a lot of people in 2009 and for the rest of us still there, it feels so different of a place than it did five years ago. I don't feel like sticking my neck out too far with new ideas any more.
