      Bait and Switch

      Pros

      Good Compensation and benefits, iniitially a lot of feedback and respect that slowly is replaced with benign neglect and then outright hostility if you vary from the company line or try to be original

      Cons

      This emperor has no clothes- its business model is out of date for the information age- management says they move like glaciers to make sure they get things right - but they are more like dinosaurs, big slow and dumb.

      Worse and worse managers

      Pros

      Decent compensation package. Overall polite and respectful working environment. It's a good place to learn financial industry knowledge in general if you seek the information. There are lots of resources on that area.

      Cons

      Progressively worse middle and lower management. During my late years there managers didn't know the work done by the team. Promotions are given more by personal relationships with managers. Managers don't show leadership. They tell you things to do but don't do themselves.

      Pros

      People are friendly and the resources are better than other places I've worked, but this job market is making people crazy. The pressure has mounted over the past few months and I'm not sure how effectively we've responded to the crisis.

      Cons

      One person can bring a project to a halt with uneducated questions and opinions about how something will work or not. Instead of just being able to disregard those opinions, the whole team has to stop and research the issues raised and prove that their position is the correct one, instead of the other way around.
