Pros

Capital Group really shows that they care for their people. There is much company emphasis to support individual and family emergencies, flexible scheduling, authorized telecommuting, etc. The Capital Group environment is highly collaborative, with emphasis on team input, not dictatorships. Cowboys and knowledge hogs do not last long here; they are culturally weeded out. You really are not just a number at CG, as humility and respect for others is not just talked, it's walked. Also, the compensation and benefits are some of the best in this area. For the most part, CG leadership has been very forthcoming about the company's financial state and stresses from the declining market. They have not isolated themselves from the company.

Cons

The highly collaborative nature can slow down progress because consensus sometimes becomes negotiation, etc. The company is also shifting the culture to emphasize accountability and single points of ownership, which is a relatively new concept at Capital.

Pros

Benefits Package, Peer relationships, lack of micromanagement. The benefits package features two bonuses through the year, and a retirement plan contribution of 15% of your annual pay. Health insurance is fairly cheap. Work/life balance is faily respected. Over 3 weeks of vacation time the first year, increasing to 4 after two years. Purchase mutual funds at NAV price - no fees. Low key atmosphere, no one really makes alot of waves. Work from home opportunities in some offices (not sure why not all). Job stability (except they are now laying off people).

Cons

Management doesn't make decisions, rigorous interview process. Some younger, less experienced managers have ego problems - going to take over the world-type attitudes. Also tends to be alot of "red" talk from some managers.

Pros

Capital Group provides excellent benefits. The work environment is very positive and the facilities themselves are great.

Cons

Management is not the brightest. Some of the decisions that are made certainly leave you scratching your head. There is an unnecessarily high level of secrecy around a lot of communicatons. The pay compared to other similar jobs in the industry is not up to par.
