      Capital Health is a nightmare. It is a poorly run organization with little regard for its employees. The physician practices have zero practice management and physicians are leaving. The physicians who are left are providing adequate care but are disgruntled. The new hospital is attractive, however, it is like putting lipstick on a pig! STAY AWAY

      Impersonal, it's all about the money

      Pros

      Hospitals in system have good reputation in the communities served, employees and middle management generally work hard to achieve organizational goals. Salaries and benefits are competitive.

      Cons

      Since opening new hospital, executive management has focused on money excessively and at the expense of its employees. Workers (including middle management) who served the system's hospitals for many years were terminated despite their loyalty and dedication in order to maximize the reduction of salary dollars. Many long-term physicians have been alienated by preferential treatment afforded to new docs perceived to be better money-makers. Personnel decisions seem to be made in a cold, impersonal manner.

      Pros

      Excellent benefits package, yearly pay increases, convenient scheduling for personal medical needs.

      Cons

      They feel they own you. Excessive overtime expected, not necessarily asked for in advance. On call pay has never increased in 25 years of working here & you are expected to work another full shift after potentially being called in to work for 24 hours straight! Recently some benefits have been taken away due to financial concerns.
