Chaotic start up.

Pros

Good benefits, perks, office and people

Cons

Upper management is so unorganized that little tasks become chaos. The pay is okay, but not for the stress day in and day out. I had high hopes working here, but honestly it's just another unorganized start up with big ideas and no way to put them into action.

Pros

There are no Pros worth mentioning as the Cons outweighs everything.

Cons

I worked as a Senior Data Analyst at CarGurus, and my experience was far from what I expected. The company talks a lot about diversity, inclusion, and a good work environment, but the reality hits hard soon after you join. The workplace is filled with politics and toxic people, making it a challenging environment to thrive in. The HR department is inexperienced and unhelpful, and the management is the worst I've encountered. They lure candidates by showcasing their supposed best-in-class work and benefits like free lunch, but the truth is, they pay terrible bonuses and actively block your career development. It's disheartening to see such a gap between their promises and the actual experience. I would not recommend CarGurus to anyone looking for a healthy and supportive work environment.

Pros

They try really really hard to please employees ... things like free food, beer, gifts, etc. make it nice. One day you go to the mailbox and there's a beach chair waiting for you! Or, another day, you get workout gear sent to your home. That's nice.

Cons

That said, the REAL reason we're there is to make an impact. It's to make a difference. It's to contribute to something larger, and to use our skills and grow our skills while doing it. That is missing here. The HR department is woefully behind, and the leader of that division is clueless. The other senior leaders do performative DEIB at best. It's hard to be a person of color at this company, because the senior most leaders have no clue how to react - they just say the talking points, and then puke microaggressions all over the place.
