Pros

Challenging experience, but great place to learn how to navigate & succeed in an FP&A role for a big company

Cons

Total comp is about 5-10% less (estimate) than competitors in space. Bonus payout not 100% multiple years. Merit not that great considering the economic challenges (been a thing since I started). Not all positions created the same. Med side (you can google this side of Cardinal Health for context) or COE (consolidation) roles can be very challenging. Getting to director level + positions can be very difficult (even with lots of experience internal to Cardinal). Can get VERY siloed.

Pros

Good to get your feet wet in sourcing, but after you get some experience take it elsewhere. Cardinal Health on your resume always looks good.

Cons

Grueling hours. The new SVP leadership has created a toxic culture with no transparency. Recently pretty much the whole org as laid off and everyone had reapply for their jobs – How insulting is that!? The pay is much less than other co’s (people have left for new jobs paying 10-30% more). It’s very manager heavy org so prepare to be micromanaged. Cardinal plans to return to work from office instead of home so factor that into your work/life balance consideration. The CEO is doesn’t fully acknowledge Cardinal’s role in the opioid epidemic (half hearted PR stunt to save the company billions in fines and lawsuits). The CEO loves to talk about the shareholders so that should tell you everything about leadership priorities.

Pros

Great work life balance Stigma attached to the name Dress code is very modern (casual)

Cons

-They like to underpay compared to industry standard and believe in their formula for 'promoting' (no one is promoted, you literally have to apply for a new job). The formula will keep you underpaid. They will hire someone from outside and pay them $20k more before giving you more than an 8 % increase. -They tout promoting women and have claim to embrace promoting women and equaling out pay-that's a lie. It doesn't flow down. -They hid all the pay bands so no one can see how underpaid they are. Luckily for cardinal most of these people live under a rock and don't realize the industry norm and blindly trust cardinal. -Continue to promote mediocre men and ignore women
