      It was a great stepping stone to getting a government job.

      Pros

      The benefits were very good. Generous with the amount of telecommuting they permitted you to do. Management was not overbearing and did not micro manage me.

      Cons

      Layoffs were being tremendously done in my time period there and the uncertainity of job security was not there. Others were being promoted in management while IT took a big hit in lay offs

      nice facilities low pressure OK benefits great people good on-the-job training very sensitive to public opnion - thats good if you want to change something!

      Pros

      Commute, Cafeteria, bonus, education and benefits. IF you think that you are going to advance, you better know someone to assist you.

      Cons

      Middle management has been there for the last 20 years. There is no room to advance. If you are a guy, forget it. Woman make up 85% of the staff. Upper management is still male. It takes forever to get approval for anything and you can expect alot of work and not enough help. Reviews are a joke and can be used against you if you are not well liked. Politics is everywhere and you better know how to play the game. Raises over the last 2 years have been a joke. Layoffs still continue and will continie into 2012. Oh yeah, they don't call them layoffs, they are called "trimmings" !
