1) one of top-rated hospitals in the region and country 2) chaplaincy services well integrated into treatment teams, understood and utilized appropriately 3) my manager has a transparent style in leading chaplaincy staff--WYSIWYG

Cons

Some nurses have repeatedly told me their units are understaffed, therefore they are more stressed than usual by having to care for more patients than is typical. Apparently this is a budgetary issue.

Educational assistance program to attract clinical staff to the organization Plans for expansion and renovations of facilities to update obsolete equipment Reasonable weather-related closure policy

Cons

'Hand-me-down management' in the sense that individuals that have worked for Carilion for years are arbitrarily qualified to manage departments/inpatient or outpatient units. Effective management requires education and experience that is specific to business; this cannot be substituted by simply working within the same company before being "promoted" when a job opens. No 401k matching Vacation/Paid Time Off
