Pros

Its a great intro into the HVAC Controls industry, but sadly not much more than that. Entry level training. I'm having a VERY hard time coming up with more pros.

Cons

First off; I may sound like a burned employee, but that's simply not the case. To back this up, dozens of employee of numerous expertise just had a mass exodus down in the Texas area not that long ago. So I'm not a bad apple; that part we have come to. Now...there are way more bad things I could say than good. The upper management has no business being in upper management. The employees do NOT come first as they always should (without them your out on the street). The training for anything beyond very entry level is non-existent. <--I know several people who have been thrown to the winds with little training and hardly any assistance. The raises are horrible to be put lightly. <--Our managers actually got a second and separate bonus for keeping cost down. This means the less they use of the money allotted to your raises, then the bigger their second bonus will be. Essentially your raise goes into the managements pockets. This is morally wrong in many ways. I was there for about 5 years and the negative attitude just got worse and worse. And the worst part was that the negative attitude was warranted. They have tracker devices in their company vehicles that wont let you idle for more than five min and send emails to your higher ups whenever your speeding, so micromanagement is also an issue. Last thing you want in a day filled with a bad company, a possible needy customer, and traffic is an email broadcasted out to say you were speeding. To finish up, just about everyone I know there has left with a VERY negative taste in their mouths. These are people that are leaving to make not a few grand more, but instead tens of thousands more at another company doing the same exact work. That's a serious problem, but corporate refuses to acknowledge or fix it until it actually hits the bottom line. So your life will not get any better until the poor way its ran financially negatively affects the company (which will most likely be very soon if no already) and then your life will suck even more. This review is put in on behalf of several employees...tread carefully. I would strongly advise you seek another company unless your just getting into the industry. If that's the case then learn what you need and move on. Automated Logic is not a place to build a career. Also, if someone from higher ALC reads this and you disagree, then I would suggest you guys get better at communicating why things are the way they are. You better have some good answers or actually SHOW people you ARE fixing it or people will just keep leaving like they are now.

Pros

Fairly good product. Branches all over the country in case you wanted to relocate. Decent college reimbursement program.

Cons

Corporate leadership seems to be clueless. The same thing that happened to the once mighty Carrier service organization is happening to ALC. Internal processes take way too long to deliver upon customers expectations. Compensation packages changed pretty drastically thus reducing total compensation for several folks.
