Pros

Loved basically every staff member I worked with on the unit. Very fulfilling job if you are passionate about the field of mental health.

Cons

Some days can be difficult, or potentially dangerous on occasion. The wage absolutely does not reflect the amount of responsibility that comes with the position, or given the fact that there is a potential of a violent event to occur any time you work on the unit. Not only did we receive no hazard pay or any sort of thanks for working through the pandemic, but overtime was (and still is) removed and has been since the start of the pandemic.
