Pros

Job security. As log as you show up (most of the time), you've got a job. HR is really afraid of legal action, so you're safe once you've made it past the probationary period.

Cons

Management does not manage. Different standards for different people. Handful of entry level employees are responsible for majority of work, and are not rewarded for those efforts.

Pros

This is a CRO, so within Clinical Pharmacolpgy Sciences (CPS) group there are lots of opporunities to work with differnt small or large pharma or biotech. Get lots of exposure to innovative trial designs across differnt therapeutic areas. Group is split into 4 cross-functional teams and some focus on a few core therapeutic areas while others on specific market segment (i.e. small biotech). Staff is very friendly, and there are telecommuting opporunities, even at higher management level (i.e. Director).

Cons

Advancement opportunities are limited and current stanrting salaries tend to be low. Mangement prefers to hire people with less experience for less money and train them on the job. Because of location of main office in NE, there are no other opportunities in the area, so people tend to stay for decades, and management has attitude that most employees are "low risk for leaving". Once classified as such, the only opportunity for advancement is through showing proof of a better job offer somewhere else.
