Pros

The casual office environment that promotes from within, the types of jobs you work on are interesting and challenging. Their work/life balance, PTO and Summer Fridays are perks. If you like a smaller "family type" work environment this place can be for you. The customer service is better than competitors - and they a bit more ethical too. Has a good sister company that provides a lot of data to the creative industry which aids Boss in winning more business.

Cons

Lots of nepotism/favoritism which is APPARENT and disappointing. It is a constant struggle of The Boss Group to keep up with the leaders in the creative staffing industry. Base salaries are sickeningly low compared to industry standards. Goals are overboard and sometimes there are so many factors beyond your control (IE a client doesn't use Boss bc of the high bill rate or you lose a contract with a client).

Pros

Fully remote, unlimited PTO plus many paid holidays and bonus days.

Cons

Cella seemed like a dream when I first started, until the integration with Randstad. It’s inevitable that companies will go downhill from the employer perspective once they are bought by a large corporation. As a recruiter you’ll be held to higher standards than the sales side and ultimately will be punished for their lack of bringing in new jobs. They decided to do a heavy KPI push at one of the slowest times we’ve ever seen, yet never gave us any actual defined goals that we were expected to hit. I was let go due to my position being eliminated after we were told over and over not to worry and that cella wouldn’t be doing layoffs. When asked if I had any questions the only one I had, what the criteria was for deciding who was let go, was unable to be answered. Yet I’m told that leadership told everyone else their decisions were based on performance and tenure. I couldn’t help but notice that the majority of us who were let go are single moms, primary providers for our families and have little ones at home with us during the day. Many people lower on the KPI report than myself and others who were let go were not affected. Cella is not transparent like they claim to be and if they tell you they “have your back”, they don’t.

We know sales jobs are not for everyone but if it is for you, you will be rewarded well. At The BOSS Group, we work with A players who want to work hard, are passionate about people, and are self-driven. Don't let one person's opinion affect your decision to work with us or any other company. It's what you make of it that counts!
