An "experience"...

Pros

Good benefits, above average pay.

Cons

Bleh.... It's all in the way the company is run. Never seen anything like it in a large company. Most companies with this many entrenched issues would have failed already. A few good people keep this company afloat (and none of these are in middle or upper management) typically by sacrificing their home loan lives and sanity

Pros

Most of the floorplans are above average. Once they finally get a home built, and ALL defects are fixed, the homes are good. Many good, hard working people in the field and in the sales offices.

Cons

Management is 110% focused on getting new sales and getting houses closed by the end of the month, end of the quarter, etc. No focus on the employees or even worse, the customers. Both are unhappy most of the time. The company is growing rapidly but there are no expenditures or focus on improved systems, training or customer service. Century gives a bad name to the new home industry.

Pros

Decent, quality materials, it's a job, it's slightly better pay than unemployment

Cons

Expect to be compensated well below comparable positions with other companies. A total cluster, disorganized, absurd counterproductive. processes, very crappy construction quality, a "hurry and get the sheetrock up" mentality forcing people to close on incomplete homes, abysmal surveys. I could go on longer but who cares?
