Pros

Cepheid pays well; that's why I went to work there. Last time I checked, they were profitable and growing. They are in a growing industry and space.

Cons

Cepheid is chronically and intentionally understaffed, with all the tension and high turnover that comes with that. Workloads were about 2x what they would be at correctly-staffed companies, and 10-12 hour days plus working most weekends were the baseline; crunch times increased hours from there. My co-workers were stressed and short-fused. I am limited in what I can say, but my time there was the single worst experience in my professional life.
