      excellent company lots of opportunity

      Cons

      culture is not quite positive. Procedures are not able to keep up with company growth. Lack of experience from engineering with medical device and GD&T knowledge. Almost always takes shortcuts. Too much use-as-is happening not enough pushback on design engineering to update specs

      Pros

      friendly work environment. min-average pay range. work-life balance is good.

      Cons

      No career growth in this role, especially under this management, therefore the employee turnover is high. You enter with a title and 2-3 years later you're on the same level! A lot of favoritism happens in this department—a lot of false promises to keep you in the role. Supervisor's hires are not diverse, and they are hiring from their own circle.

      Pros

      I like the people at Cepheid. As a bunch they tend to want to do the right thing, are hard working, and play well with others. The company's future is also strong.

      Cons

      Many VPs at Cepheid just don't know how to manage including not understanding how to empower, enable development opportunities, etc. Several were promoted from within only because of tenure or charm vs. actual skills. Many of them still micro manage which doesn't inspire or help people do their best work. Very top down decision driven. HR and HRBP are not trying hard to help management grow.
