Pros

Pay is good. I believe the Parent company - TDG CEO is what is keeping the company from going off the rails. Work life balance is good depending on what manager you work for. Current CEO is leaving at the end of the year (Pro). Hopefully he takes all of his Newell Rubbermaid's with him.

Cons

HR department needs a rework starting at the TOP. Departments/managers used to be able to function without being micro-managed by HR. This all happened with the arrival of the CEO and his hired hands. Diversity is slowly changing for the better. Raises for non-management HARD WORKERS are minimal while big spending is done by upper management under the guise of meetings, etc.

Could Be So Much Better!

Pros

Competitive salary and benefits. Good work/life balance. Private ownership structure enables long-term investments in infrastructure, research and new product development.

Cons

With rare exception, CGI’s Marketing and Strategy leadership teams are weak. Tall dollars are spent bolstering brand impressions and fighting for incremental share in residential U.S. markets when cheaper, more favorable returns are available elsewhere. While marketing and insights teams are capable of executing when directed, they cannot lead, and when Human Resources is provided an opportunity to listen to the mid-level managers who do the work, they defer to CGI’s Marketing Directors and Vice Presidents, who are, with rare exception, inept self promoters. The talented leave, while the capable keep their heads down, their mouths shut, and do their best not to become over extended.
