Pros

Good money for people with few marketable skills. Plenty of overtime. Profit sharing, eventually. Lots of exercise on the job. Very physical. Good way to learn how to get around town.

Cons

Non-union. Lots of nepotism. Split days off mandatory. Expected to work 12 hour days often, six days a week in the summer. Lousy medical benefits. High deductible. Very high turnover.

This is a successful business, dominating/monopolizing its market, which is a lucrative and growing market. There is zero chance this company will radically downsize, or fail

Cons

They have little need to cultivate workers' morale or quality of life, and so as a new hire you can expect to be used harshly. Phone calls at 2 a.m. on your day off asking you to come in are commonplace. Expressing concerns about safety and efficiency in operations leads nowhere.
