Pros

The retail branches of Chase are an interesting place to work as opposed to boutique retial financial advisory firms. The branch is a great place for traffic and immediate access to customers.

Cons

Depending on the Branch manager, a financial advisor who is interested in making or enlarging a book of business will have a hard time especially since the brance is concerned about the P/L of the branch only and not the business partners.

Pros

We know as employees that we are working for a very sound financial company. That lends a certain degree of job security to what we do. Also, while it is a very sales driven culture to work in which can be stressful, you do know exactly where you stand performance wise. Since it is very numbers driven, it is very cut and dry as to whether management believes you're doing a good job...you meet goal you're doing good, if you don't meet goal you're not. Also, JPMorgan Chase is a top flight organization when it comes to technology and tools for their employees.

Cons

There is no attempt to even hide the fact that everything is driven by your sales numbers. This push for sales can be at times very stressful and allows little leeway for other factors that may lead to more job happiness, such as acknowledment for a good job, etc. Also, management is chosen for having been able to produce at their sales goals in their pre-management role. While this is certainly done on a fair and equal basis, that isn't necessarily mean that a top salesperson is going to make a great or even good manager.
