This is gonna take a while(applies to Bangalore TAC): Personal front: 1. No opportunities in other teams. Even if you get one, it will take you years to move. And if you decide to stay back in TAC. After 1 year in TAC, if you learn something new, come and dislike this review. 2. Salary slabs are a joke here. An engineer earning more than a lead is common and dont be surprised due to that. 3. Work life balance - till the time you work like a machine, keep your tasks up to date, it's all fine but if you do not get a salary hike and just decide to work in your shift, you're either cornered or not considered for any opportunities. 4. Products are outdated and doesn't have a promising future so not sure if there Specialized product line knowledge will help you in near future or not. 5. Higher management getting worse - Company standards are nowhere close to the product based standards of TAC culture of other companies. Your extra effort rewards might be cut down to a third grade pizza mania pizza stating budget issues. HR's only focus is on delaying your promotions, salary hikes and bringing in the worst possible policies. You'll be treated as traitor in your notice period and in case you have any outstanding bonuses for the hard work you put in, those will be immediately cancelled. 6. Training - After first year, you'll be just treated as a machine with no new learnings and you'll just be expected to handle all possible escalations on the floor with no one caring for your personal growth plans. Organizational front: 1. Company is just taking advantage of its brand name. The tech is age old and nobody is hold accountable for growth and tech improvement. They are just trying to save their ages old customer base by selling the same product with fancy names again and again. 2. Sales false commitments bites back TAC and they have to handle out of support coverages every now and then. 3. No proper lab and office infrastructure for Bangalore office in accordance with the plan that will be fed to you falsely regularly. 4. A TAC with a non tech background managers and leads. Hopefully you are intelligent enough to understand what that will do. 5. HR is really nice. They surprise you time to time by offering your referrals less than their current compensation. Advise to current/future employees - don't listen to your TAC head. Half of the things are imaginary or will take years to get approved. Your leads are service desk agents, they'll just dispatch cases to you. Don't expect any help from them. Make good friends in the team and your life will be very easy in handling the cases.
