Pros

Good people work there, but the corporate culture has lost it's honesty.

Cons

When you get to a certain level, and you mess up the business it goes ignored if you have a good sponsor. They overlook that so that they do not look incompetent to their colleagues.

good company

Pros

good pay, plenty of resources to set you up for success, competitive environment,

Cons

Too many layoffs on upstream side. 2 huge layoffs in 10 year time frame where I had to re-apply for my job. Layoff process allows for employees with less than one year at company exempt from layoff as "to new to evaluate". This is a slap in the face to loyal employees who have put in years. Diversity and inclusion is crammed down your throat.

I hate competing

Pros

Great benefits and good 401K Plan.

Cons

If several departments are laying off, I hate that Chevron will make you compete for you job with other employees. In a position that you're performing well in, received good feedback on your performance and then forced to do a panel interview to compete for your role is absurd.
