Pros

Hybrid workplace Weekly lunches Semi-decent healthcare benefits

Cons

Joining Chewy was one of my biggest career regrets. I regularly experienced situations that felt like microaggressions: I was sometimes excluded from key reviews, my ideas and strategies were not consistently acknowledged or appreciated, and on multiple occasions, I’ve had concepts I ideated taken on by other team members, and I received little to no credit for developing the framework and critical requirements of the project in the first place. My contributions often seemed to be overlooked. I noticed instances where leadership did not always meet commitments, information sharing was inconsistent, and unnecessary micromanagement often hindered project progress. I’ve observed multiple instances in which a lack of ownership and accountability at the leadership level led to delayed decisions, ultimately slowing progress and preventing projects from launching on time. In several cases, leaders did not act on project updates requiring their approval, waiting until the last minute and creating avoidable delays that directly impacted the success of my work.

Pros

The best company I’ve ever worked for. They genuinely care about their employees, offer plenty of opportunities for career advancement, and promote a great work-life balance. Overall, just an amazing place to work.

Cons

While the company has a lot of positives, working as a Customer Service Voice Agent does come with some challenges. Calls can be back-to-back with limited to no downtime, which can be mentally tiring over long shifts. You’ll also occasionally deal with rude or frustrated customers, which can be stressful in the moment. That said, the positive interactions really do outweigh the negative ones—there are so many kind, appreciative customers that make the job rewarding. The fast-paced environment can be demanding, but it also helps the day go by quickly and keeps things engaging.
