Pros

Helping clients who need counselling, advice, direction, and intervention

Cons

Upper managment are deceptive, including the management in Exton and the management at the headquarters in Baltimore (Chimes International). Words that refer to this company's so called leadership include unethical, immoral, deceptive, sneaky, self-promoting, law-breaking, truth hiding, liars. There are many better companies in the area that help people. I am looking to get out as soon as possible!!

Pros

It's interesting to see the lengths people will go through to protect themselves vs the people they provide care for and to research best practice/ ways to prevent that from happening in a field where funding is tight and character is routinely tested due to scarce resources.

Cons

It's sad knowing that the county and state regulatory authorities do not have any teeth and that many residential clients do not have their own families to advocate on their behalf. It's sad knowing that the bar is set so low. Anything offered through residential placement is considered better for the clients than homelessness jail, or dicey situations created from independent living.

Pros

Easy job in residential, almost no work. Despite needing a degree for this job, it's basically babysitting.

Cons

The residential site is so understaffed that you could very well end up working every single solitary holiday even when you request off far in advance. Staff at residential site is NOT supportive or helpful at all and will not cover shifts or make time off for anyone, even on holidays. Minimal effort is made to fill open positions, which would greatly reduce staffing issues. Company goes back on promises they made upon hire, like a raise after 3 months without any disciplinary actions on record. The company fires employees without warnings and often "cuts off the top" firing those who make the most money to save themselves some change. Clients are not cared for appropriately and are often left to sit in front of the television all day with nothing else to do. Employers do stretch the truth at job interviews, claiming you'll be doing therapeutic work with clients when in reality you'll be cooking, cleaning, and changing adult diapers. Job pays very little.
