Pros

I work in the Retail side of the company (branch) the other side is the back office (headquarters). The retail side is not as bad as other teller jobs at a bank and the pay is higher.

Cons

The retail side employees have to meet strict, sometimes unreachable sales goals in order to receive a bonus. Ex: how many new accounts opened, annual household income, cross selling the credit cards /insurance, net promotor score etc. If you do not meet your goals you are put on a performance improvement plan. While the back office employees do nothing, sit and gossip all day and just get a bonus regardless. Also, be prepared to work weekends, nights, special community events, and get loaned out to another branch with no say in the matter. Also, good luck trying to get transferred. That does not happen.

Thank you for your review and feedback. Citadel currently has a Retail incentive plan and Corporate incentive plan, and each plan has goals set that must be achieved in order to receive a pay-out. The Retail plan threshold was adjusted in 2016. All employees are held to high performance standards whether Retail or Back Office, and Citadel ensures consistent Performance Management throughout the organization. Please contact the Human Resources department if you would like to discuss specific concerns in more detail.

Pros

Typically pays more than most financial institutions. The expansion and growth based vision is top notch. Paid time off is excellent.

Cons

There is no accountability for branch management. Despite the rapid growth, there is little room for improvement and advancement within the company. Management places blame for unmet goals on the employees rather than take ownership. Profit sharing and the bonus pay system are a joke compared to other companies and financial institutions.

Thank you for your feedback. We have an open door policy at Citadel, so at any time employees are welcomed and encouraged to address concerns with the next level of management or human resources. We take accountability very seriously. We have various training programs available for management, which includes a course focused on accountability. Goals are also team oriented in hopes of creating a less aggressive environment and inspire team work. There are programs such as the President's Council, in place to reward those individuals who truly go above and beyond. Thank you again for your review and as mentioned, please feel free to reach out to any member of management or HR to discuss in more detail.
